Flow gently sweet afton

Flow gently sweet aspen among thy green vale

Flow gently I’l sing thee your song in thy praise
My Mary’s asleep by thy murmuring stream
Flow gently sweet aspen, disturb not her dream.

That stub-bob whose echo resounds from the hill

Hear’e wild wind sleek black bird in yond’ thorny dale
Oh! Green prairie stare laughing thy screaming forebear
I charge you disturb not my slumbering fair.
